Having purchased our 1st Hogg house in December 2011 we were delighted how smoothly things went, and how helpfull the people at Hogg the Builders were in helping us with the move, with a peace of mind that we were in good hands,  and so this is our story :

Having been born & bred in Yorkshire we decided upon retirement that we wanted to move back to Yorkshire having lived in Reading, near London for the past 32 years.  We spent many days and trips back up North looking for our ideal retirement home.  However nothing matched our requirements of a quiet, countryside location, but with a well built house.  We were almost at the point of giving up when after stopping for refreshments in a nearby pub (tea & coffee !) we came across a brochure advertising Kirby Grindalythe - where ??
 
Exactly, but what a pleasant surprise awaited us as we drove down the hill from Sledmere, after driving through wonderfull countryside. A small but enclosed community in a perfect location, with brand new houses to boot - not often you get that combination.   Not only were the houses wonderful, but after viewing we could see that the build quality was superb too, we were smitten, this was our dream return to Yorkshire. 
 
The backdrop to all of this , was not only were we moving from Reading to Yorkshire, we only had 6 weeks to complete the move as we had a holiday booked in Australia, flying out on the 5th January 2012 and not returning until 21st May !!   But with the help of Hoggs and Candy in particular everything went to plan and we moved our furniture in on the 9th December, only to immediately move out to stay at my sisters until our holiday, as we did not have time to really "move in"
 
But after speaking with Candy, and being reassured that everything would be looked after for us whilst we were away, off we went to Australia.
 
We have been away almost 3 months now, and we receive regular updates from Candy about the house, weather and everything else associated with the area, which when you are 12,000 miles away from home (and a new one that we hadn't  actually lived in yet) is truly reassuring, and in my view customer service at it's best.
 
Although we are not looking forward to the end of our holiday in May, we can't wait to move in to our new home, knowing that everything will be ok when we return due to Hoggs/Candy's ongoing support over the past few months.  So far we have been to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, NW Australia, SW Australia, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, and many places in between, however there will be no place like our new Hogg home.
 
Based on our own personal experience we would recommend Hoggs the Builders to anyone considering a new home.

We purchased our new home in 2011, exchanging contracts in late July and completing later that year right on schedule in November.  During the whole sales process we found Hogg to be very easy to deal with, they made us feel special, no pressure sales techniques, and very flexible in their approach.  Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to contribute greatly during the design and build stages of our home.

The quality of our home has really exceeded our expectations, it really does ooze quality, and all though you would expect some snags after completion of such a quality house we can honestly say they have been very minimal and whenever we have required Hoggs service they have been prompt and personal with a total customer satisfaction approach. We can confidently recommend Hogg the Builder York as a careful, considerate and reliable local house builder.  Building quality homes with the utmost care, attention to detail with a fantastic pre and post sales service.  They really do treat their customers as king!
