Kirby Grindalythe

On the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail you could enjoy 79 miles of unbroken peace & quiet along one of Britain’s most charming landscapes. Within the village stands the impressive St Andrew’s Church boasting a magnificent gilded Italian mosaic depicting the Ascension.

Central to the village and close to Low Farm is the Cranedale Centre providing courses in environmental studies. The Village is served by regular visits from the local fishmonger, baker, milkman and mobile library.  Kirby Grindalythe also has a post office and a popular village hall.

Two miles away is Sledmere House, East Yorkshire’s premier stately home, which is the residence of Sir Tatton Sykes and open to the public with its magnificent parkland planned by Capability Brown. Click here to visit the Sledmere House Website.

The nearby traditional market towns of Malton and Driffield offer a variety of local shops, services and schools.

The region is home to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, the Flamborough Head Heritage Coast and the Vales of Pickering and York. The coastal towns of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington and the medieval City of York are all within easy reach.
