The village of Strensall lies in open countryside just 8 miles north of York. The village boasts the best of both worlds, good facilities of its own and a wealth of further shopping and leisure opportunities nearby including Monks Cross and Clifton Moor retail parks. Within the village there is a medical centre, dental surgery, post office, veterinary practice, supermarket, hairdressers, bakery and butchers. There is also a village hall and playground, two churches, three public houses and a number of organised clubs and societies including football, tennis and bowls.
Strensall is within the catchment area for the highly regarded Huntington School which offers both sixth form and secondary education. Robert Wilkinson VC Primary School and several playgroups are also located in the village. Situated close to the outer ring road Strensall has excellent road links to Leeds and Harrogate and a direct bus service into the centre of York every 10 minutes.
On the fringe of Strensall Common lies York Golf Club and close by is Sandburn Hall Golf Club and Tykes Restaurant. From the village there are miles of virtually undisturbed countryside where you can walk, fish, cycle or ride.
Within easy reach of the North York Moors, North Yorkshire's dramatic coastline and several historic houses including Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall, Strensall is an ideal place to call home.
